We are planning for the annual ARRL Field Day and our family picnic at Smith Park, Middletown, OH.
The goal is to contact as many other stations as possible under abnormal situations for 24 hours.
Friday 26th:
Friday Noon – setup begins with tents and campers
Friday 2pm – we start putting up antennas until about 5-6 pm
Saturday 27th:
Saturday 9am – continue setup and test radios/computers
Saturday 2pm – Field Day operation begins for 24 hours
Saturday 6pm – Dial Club covered dish picnic
Sunday 28th:
Sunday 8-9 am – breakfast for the operators
Sunday Noon – start take down of tents, etc.
Sunday 2pm – Field day ends and everything is taken down
Sunday 4pm – Headed home
We are planning on the same setup as last year. We will be running class 3A, (three main transmitters) with a GOTA station for visitors/rookies. We also run a VHF/6 meter station when the band is open.
The stations will be setup with four Icom IC7300 radios that could operate on all modes. Normally 1 will be on CW, 1 on SSB, 1 on FT8/FT4 digital modes. Get On The Air GOTA station will be able to operate SSB and FT8 .
